Overview of Product Specialist

The Product Specialist supports the Category Manager in executing product strategy, supporting product line extension and new product development.

General Responsibilities

  • Product line extension: Identify new SKU opportunities utilizing internal data sources and external data from vendors and competition.
  • New product development: conduct initial product research under the guidance of Category Manager; provide timely feedback on all information requested by Category Manager on market opportunity, competition, pricing.
  • Ensure all SKU details are correctly received from vendors before SKU information can be created in company’s cataloging system.
  • Create and manage existing ECatalog product content. Product content includes marketing, attributes, specifications, cross references, and product relationships.
  • Work with company’s Quality team and Customer Service team to address product related feedback from customers and execute improvement action.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus one to two years related experience; or more than five years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of automotive or powersports parts preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL programming is a plus
