Job Description

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to join our Creative Studio team as a Video Editor.  The focus of this role will be to create Rivian brand content – working closely day-to-day with your Creative Studio peers along with our Integrated Marketing, Social Media, and Paid Media teams. The position requires a unique blend of creative flair, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills. You will collaborate with various teams to produce high-quality video content aligned with our brand identity and marketing objectives. In addition to managing your own projects, you will play a key supporting role by assisting our creative and editorial leads on larger campaigns.  This position offers exciting growth opportunities in a creative and technical environment where you’ll work on diverse projects and contribute to our organization’s success by creating best-in-class content optimized for performance across a variety of owned and paid channels.

You are passionate about visual media, with a strong understanding of crafting narratives tailored to specific platforms and audiences. A natural storyteller, you thrive in fast-paced environments, working under tight deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities. You bring a fresh editorial perspective, take creative risks, and are excited to join our mission to create fun, engaging work.

Responsibilities

  • Weave compelling stories and craft narratives from existing and new raw footage that align with marketing strategies, product launches, and key campaigns.
  • Translate campaign strategies into video deliverables optimized for business goals.
  • Organize footage and manage Rivian’s digital media library.
  • Support lead editors by prepping projects (e.g., proxy creation, building selects sequences) and assisting with larger video deliveries and versioning.
  • Collaborate with the Organic Social and Performance Marketing teams to ensure videos align with briefs, maintain visual consistency, and meet brand guidelines.
  • Expertly assemble audio, select appropriate music, and use sound effects to enhance storytelling impact.
  • Stay attuned to internet and automotive culture, remaining nimble and open to experimenting with new creative concepts.
  • Identify and monitor emerging social media trends and technologies.
  • Contribute to additional projects as needed.
  • Be fluent in Adobe Premiere; experience with Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve is a plus. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of video editing experience.
  • 3+ years of experience creating brand content.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating storytelling across a variety of channels.
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation is a plus.
  • Creative storyteller with an out-of-the-box mindset and an engaging personality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional presentation skills for internal creative reviews.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing directions.
  • Receptive to feedback and skilled at executing modifications to in-progress projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, and instincts for creative storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Passion for organic and paid social media.
  • Collaborative spirit, a sense of humor, and a shared sense of purpose.
