The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst will will play a crucial role in driving compliance strategy, advising cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to all trade regulations while optimizing duty savings and maintaining accurate records. This role will.possess deep expertise in Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) qualification, and broader regulatory frameworks governing international trade.
CORE FUNCTIONS
· Accurately classify products under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Canada HS, TARIC and Schedule B; ensure consistency across global markets and support resolution of complex classification issues.
· Manage and enhance the global parts database, ensuring accuracy, regulatory alignment, and ease of use for internal stakeholders.
· Perform regular audits of HTS classifications to ensure accuracy and maintain compliance with evolving regulations; proactively identify areas for correction or improvement.
· Proactively monitor transactions and internal processes for compliance risks or violations; escalate potential red flags and procedural gaps to the Senior Customs and Trade Compliance Manager.
· Review, validate, and advise on product eligibility under the USMCA.
· Prepare and maintain documentation for USMCA certification and reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to support audit readiness.
· Act as a subject matter expert for cross-functional teams to ensure understanding and implementation of USMCA rules of origin.
· Conduct post-entry audits and compliance reviews for import transactions, identifying discrepancies, root causes, and corrective actions.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, monitoring performance against KPIs.
· Manage the preparation of export documentation, ensuring compliance with destination country requirements.
· Lead export classification activities, ensuring proper assignment of ECCNs and regulatory controls under EAR, ITAR, and other applicable laws.
· Review end-use, end-user, and destination screening processes, ensuring restricted party screenings are performed and licenses are obtained when required.
· Ensure that export control classification numbers (ECCNs) are obtained for sensitive or controlled items; maintain records for compliance with retention policies and audit requirements.
· Provide expert guidance on country of origin determination; support internal sourcing and procurement decisions.
· Monitor and ensure organizational adherence to U.S. and international export control laws, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and other applicable trade regulations.
· Engage and coordinate with global and regional teams, supporting the execution of strategic trade compliance goals and initiatives across the organization.
· Collaborate with the Senior Customs and Trade Compliance Manager to identify inefficiencies in compliance processes and recommend enhancements or compliance automation initiatives.
· Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), working instructions, and internal control documents to reflect current workflows.
· Maintain complete, accurate and audit-ready records of all trade compliance activities, documentation, and regulatory filings.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics required.
· 8+ years of experience in trade compliance and customs required.
· Extensive experience with USMCA, including in-depth knowledge of rules of origin and qualification requirements.
· Expertise in U.S. and international import/exports regulations and trade compliance standards.
· Hands-on experience managing and optimizing duty drawback programs, with strong knowledge of best practices and regulatory requirements.
Required Licenses
· Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification is preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
· Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is a plus.
· Expert level knowledge of HTS classification and General Rules of Interpretation (GRI).
· Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with global and cross-functional teams.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced-level Excel skills are required, including the ability to write complex formulas, perform data modeling, and implement reporting automations.
· Expert-level knowledge of US Customs Trade program management and Harmonized Tariff Classification for Automotive.
· Ability to learn and utilize various types of software / ERP information systems.
· Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
· Expertise in US Customs ACE portal, including reporting and data management.
· Deep understanding of organizational supply chain and systems.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Travel
· Occasional travel may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
