Job Description

Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas, Inc is looking to hire a Sr. Benefits Specialist who will be a key component of the HR team that will oversee the day-to-day administration and long-term planning of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) plan and leave of absence administration.  The Sr. Benefits Specialist will work to help design, implement, and oversee self-funded health plans. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulations, drive cost-effective plan management, and serve as a key resource for employees on benefit-related inquiries.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Develop and manage self-funded benefit plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee needs.
Design and oversee fully self-funded health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits, tailored to the organization’s goals and employee needs.
Provides excellent customer service to our employees as it relates to their benefits, and timely responses to requests and questions regarding benefits, escalating complex issues as needed and monitors benefit administration across multiple systems and applications.
Perform and oversee audits for data integrity related to employee enrollments, ACA compliance, COBRA administration, and file feed error reports.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit invoices for all benefit programs, perform detailed reconciliation of invoices against benefit enrollment data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Partners with our third-party benefits brokerage and Sr. HR Manager to ensure compliance of benefits programs, utilizing knowledge of benefits legislation (COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA, ADA and others) and Summary Plan Descriptions by staying up to date on rules and regulations impacting benefits
Ensure adherence to all applicable government regulations, including ERISA, ACA, and HIPPA requirements.
Negotiate contracts and maintain strong partnerships with third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance carriers, and healthcare providers.
Monitor claims processing for accuracy and efficiency while addressing escalated issues.
Analyze claim trends, review claim adjudication processes, and work closely with third-party administrators (TPAs) to ensure efficient and accurate claims management.
Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges. Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
Will ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments, providing vendors with accurate eligibility information and compliance with DOL, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA and any other applicable Federal, State, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, obtaining qualified opinions, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Partner with Sr. HR Manager and other key members of management to carry out annual open enrollment efforts.
Provide detailed reporting on plan performance, claims costs, and financial projections, offering insights for strategic decision-making.
Evaluate plan performance, analyze trends, and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
Conduct periodic audits of plan performance and financial metrics to ensure optimal operation and alignment with organizational objectives.
Assists with new-hire orientations.
Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
Enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes.
Effectively administer our Leave of Absence programs and interpret FMLA, CFRA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Act as a trusted advisor to employees, answering benefit-related inquiries and resolving any issues.
Develop and deliver educational materials and sessions to ensure employees fully understand their benefits.
Conduct periodic benchmarking to ensure self-funded plans remain competitive and cost-effective.

The starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job and/or industry. The salary range listed is what we reasonably expect to compensate generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on the specific job description. We provide a competitive compensation package along with a robust benefits program to meet your needs.

 

The salary range for this position is $96,364.79 - $144,547.20

Requirements

Manage and oversee self-funded plans.
Experience transitioning from fully insured plans to self-funded plans.
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits.
Proficiency in working with HRIS and benefits administration systems (ADP Vantage preferred)
Excellent analytical, organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have a bachelor’s degree.  Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or any related field.  Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits management, including self-funded plans. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification is a plus.
