Job Description
The Sourcing Manager will be a key member of the Supply Chain function at K&N Engineering and the overall Operations team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as a financial steward, spearhead and manage projects to reduce total cost of ownership while meeting financial business goals and objectives (e.g., costs, service, quality, policies, supply & risk mitigation).
- Provide strategic inputs and global supply market information to guide business decisions and act as a conduit for procurement activities.
- Complete the supplier evaluation process and ensure written documentation to support both informal and formal source selection procedures.
- Complete the collection, analysis, and reporting of category spend and savings data monthly and present to leaders of the organization.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and department leaders to identify and execute continuous cost, process improvement, and service improvement projects.
- Partner with stakeholders to effectively leverage scale, simplify the supplier base, reduce total cost of ownership, and improve cost and customer On-Time delivery.
- Coordinate strategic sourcing activities with cross functional teams for categories including preparing category sourcing results, sourcing step details, and summaries.
- Perform total cost of ownership calculations and make vs buy evaluations.
- Seek out new and develop existing vendors based on need, proximity, and supplier capabilities.
- Execute sourcing initiatives and provide support to the contracting process.
- Manage complex negotiations for new vendor relationships and new development projects with existing vendors.
- Demonstrate strategic problem solving and risk mitigation within Purchasing department and to support organizational goals and profitability.
- Provide analytical support for sourcing activities including but not limited to total cost analysis, spend categorization, vendor and commodity categorization, total cost of ownership for manufacturing and organization.
Qualifications
Experience, Skills & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field + 5 years of relevant sourcing experience in Procurement, Vendor Management and/or Global Supply Chain Management.
- Vendor relationship qualification and development.
- Ability to generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
- Capable of analyzing and calculating procurement costs and suggest methods to reduce expenses.
- Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
- Perform cost, scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Awareness of global and economic shifts and the impact on sourcing strategies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proven work experience in leading diverse contract processes.
- Fluent in English (Spanish a plus).
Additional Qualities Necessary:
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.
- Prior experience in the logistics and manufacturing industry, preferred.
- Availability to travel up to 25%.
