About the position:

The Sales and Forecasting Analyst will be responsible for analyzing sales data, forecasting future sales, and providing actionable insights to drive business decisions. 

 

General responsibilities:

  • Sales Analysis:
    • Analyze historical sales data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
    • Provide regular reports on sales performance, including variances to forecast.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and promotions.
  • Forecasting:
    • Develop and maintain sales forecasts using statistical methods and business insights.
    • Collaborate with sales, operations, and planning teams to ensure accurate and realistic forecasts.
    • Monitor and adjust forecasts based on market trends, promotional activities, and other influencing factors.
    • Analyze customer forecast data and translate into actionable insights for integrating into internal forecast needs.
    • Review and support the Sales Operating and Planning process with detailed review of item level specific impacts on warehouse inventory and on-time delivery.
  • Market Research:
    • Conduct market research to identify potential growth opportunities and threats.
    • Analyze competitor performance and market conditions to inform strategic decisions.
    • Provide insights on customer preferences and behavior.
  • Data Management:
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of sales data by maintaining and updating databases.
    • Implement and utilize forecasting software and tools effectively.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and other data visualization tools.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Support the development of sales strategies and business plans.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align sales forecasts with operational plans.
    • Provide recommendations to optimize inventory levels and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare and present reports to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales and forecasting.
    • Translating business questions into reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree business, economics, statistics, finance, or a related field with demonstrated work history.

Experience: Solid and progressive hands on experience in sales analysis, forecasting, or a related role.

 

To be successful in this role, we believe that you possess the following skills, competencies & characteristics:

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Knowledge of advanced data analytics tools and software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and willingness to learn new software/systems as introduced
  • Experience with multiple ERP’s and external planning software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience in the outdoor, recreational, or professional products industry.
  • Candidates who are Bilingual in English and Spanish would be a plus.
