Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to the Director of Sales – Responsible for planning, direction, and coordination of dealer representative organizations engaged in the sale and promotion of Company products within a very large and complex region.   Responsible for development, coordination and execution of regional sales program(s), advertising, training, and merchandising.   Gathers information on regional competitive activity and overall market conditions within assigned product group.

 

MAJOR DUTIES

Plans, directs, and coordinates dealer representative organizations engaged in the sale and promotion of designated Company products within an assigned region covering a broad geographical area and generating a very large business volume.
Manage and organize a retail distribution network to maximize company sales within the region and institute change as necessary to meet Company objectives.
Develop and coordinate advertising, sales training, and promotional activity within the region to drive sales of Company products.
Manage ongoing development and execution of a regional market plan covering the assigned product group including administration of sales reporting and trend analysis to assure quotas are appropriately distributed and achieved.   
Provide positive direction of sales organizations within the region, resolve problems and actively enforce Company policy.
Accurately project future sales activity and seek new business opportunities.  
Manage product allocation based on territorial requirements and to maximize consumer access to Company products.
Conduct on-site visits of dealer representative organizations to review competitive activity by territory, review status of current sales efforts, resolve problems, and ensure that marketing goals are achieved.
Proactively coordinate execution between intra-company departments including dealer credit, order administration, finance, shipping/receiving and marketing to resolve issues and assure steady flow of product.
Independently perform a wide range of clerical duties in support of sales including analysis and reporting, inter-company correspondence, account reconciliation and budgeting of regional promotions.
 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

6-8 years of experience in Consumer Electronics with strong knowledge of retail sales management techniques including merchandising, selling strategies, inventory management, and advertising.
Independently motivated and capable of operating effectively in a remote office environment with exceptional follow-though skills.  Able to maintain high level of trust and adherence to corporate guidelines.
Able to develop effective regional sales strategies and proactively manage their execution to assure Company objectives are achieved in a sustainable way.   
Actively contributes and seeks to strengthen a strong team atmosphere, both internal and external.
Must have thorough knowledge of the assigned product group, the dynamics of the regional environment, and be able to gain an understanding of the Company overall sales direction.
Must have highly developed written and verbal sales skills and be able to organize and implement sales programs within a very large and complex region.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint required.
 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Director of Sales and coordinates positive interaction with Company departments such as Order Administration, Credit, Finance, Warehouse and Marketing to resolve administrative challenges.  Coordinates with retail dealers and advertising agencies to effectively execute sales programs within a large region.

 

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING

Effectively solves problems in accordance with company policy while maintaining highest level of trust with minimal guidance.  Demonstrates sound judgment and creativity in decision making and does so in a timely fashion necessary to maintain positive sales momentum.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a general office environment.
Travel within the assigned region, corporate HQ and various tradeshows is required.
