Job Description
The Global Sourcing Manager reports directly to the Director of Procurement in our Irvine Headquarters and is responsible for strategic and tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, and services to be used by the organization, in relation to Production and Engineering resources.
This role will also oversee all commercial activities with suppliers. Interface with cross functional areas, including manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and supplier quality to meet program deliverables.
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Leads the sourcing process with suppliers, including RFQ, negotiation, supplier selection, PO execution and delivery.
- Negotiate cost, delivery, quality, transportation, and other standard or special contract terms. Evaluates and analyzes RFQ results and provide sourcing documentation and recommendations to managements.
- Owns and drives supplier performance. Interfaces with Supplier Quality Assurance on APQP activities, production part PPAPs, and quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including manufacturing, logistics, design/engineering, program management, legal, finance, and supplier quality to meet program deliverables.
- Understands and directs commodity management.
- Understands and evaluates commodity part manufacturing and component cost elements.
- Implements design/engineering changes and manages the execution of changes with suppliers.
- Possesses and understanding of contractual language and the fundamental skills for contract writing.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, Engineering or equivalent Supply Chain Management experience
- 5 – 8 years of experience in manufacturing purchasing. Automotive industry preferred.
- SAP experience desired
- Demonstrated ownership of sourcing projects and ability to follow through in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated professional and result-driven communication, management and negotiation skills with supplier and other internal and external teams.
- Comfortable in all communication method including face-to-face and phone communications.
- Understanding of the basic cost and technical elements of Automotive Parts
- Must display ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts for the best interests of the company.
- Demonstrated learning and continuous improvement of knowledge and work-related skills.
- Effective inter person and written communication skills.
- Teamwork skills in a multi-cultural environment
- Demonstrated success managing supplier tooling movements or other complex program management experience.
- Detail oriented and organized, especially in time management.
- Domestic and international travel as needed, especially China – up to 20% of the time.
- Mandarin Language skills desired, not required.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, including executive management.
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems as applicable.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing their job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend approximately 100% (excluding breaks and meal periods) of time in an office environment.

Compensation:
$100,000 - 127,000 /annual salary. Compensation will vary DOE.

Compensation offered may vary on multiple factors, including market location, education, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position being offered.
