Job Description

The Buyer will manage a catalog of suppliers and will be responsible for cost, delivery, and quality targets for that catalog of spend. This role is also responsible for balancing supplier purchases to minimize inventory while maintaining appropriate stocking levels to meet customer service expectations.

Responsibilities:

· Manage a catalog of suppliers, including cost, delivery, and quality targets.

· Issue purchase orders to suppliers and maintain appropriate levels of inventory.

· Review and maintain system data for assigned suppliers and parts.

· Work with cross functional team to drive continuous improvement with the supply base.

· Initiate requests for quote and analyze responses to determine best value for the company.

· Interact with suppliers on a regular basis, including supplier performance reviews.

· Work closely with other departments to ensure adherence to purchasing policies.

· Serve as key point of contact to resolve receiving and accounts receivable issues.

Qualifications & Requirements:

This position requires an individual with the following skills/attributes

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related Business or Engineering field of study.

· 1 to 5 years experience in manufacturing or distribution environment.

· Strong technical skills, with experience in MRP.

· Experience in Oracle ERP preferred.

· Excellent verbal and written communication and project management abilities.

· Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

· Comfortable collecting and analyzing data.

· Familiarity with inventory or warehouse management software.

· Understanding of supply chain processes.
