The Business Development Manager – Aluminum Foundry is responsible for identifying and developing new customer relationships in non-automotive industrial markets. This role focuses on generating new business opportunities, managing the quoting and sales process, and coordinating with internal teams to support customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities for aluminum casting services in sectors such as aerospace, HVAC, military, medical, and more.
Present, promote, and sell Edelbrock Foundry casting solutions using technical product knowledge and persuasive value-based selling strategies.
Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis to understand potential customer requirements and align them with Edelbrock’s capabilities.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with new prospects to drive long-term growth.
Conduct outreach via cold calling, email campaigns, referrals, and in-person networking.
Prepare and deliver customized presentations and quotes tailored to client needs.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, quality, etc.) to ensure feasibility and alignment on customer requirements.
Provide detailed sales reporting including customer needs, quote activity, competitor insights, and market trends.
Track progress against established sales goals and maintain accurate CRM records.
Stay informed on competitive trends and best practices within the aluminum casting and foundry industry.
Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt resolution of inquiries or issues.
Target Market Segments:
This role will focus exclusively on acquiring new aluminum casting customers outside of Edelbrock’s existing client base, particularly in the following industries:

Heavy-Duty Trucks

Agriculture
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Cooling)
Power Transmission & Utility Companies
Water Management / Irrigation Systems
Experience/Skills Required:
Proven experience in business development or outside sales, ideally in a foundry, aluminum casting, or industrial manufacturing environment.
Strong technical understanding of metal casting processes and applications is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to build trust and rapport.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and sales pipeline management.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to craft and deliver presentations customized to a technical buyer’s needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in sales/business development within foundry, aluminum casting, or metal component manufacturing.
Familiarity with OEM sales, custom casting projects, and quoting processes.
Working knowledge of customer applications in non-automotive sectors.
