Job Description
WeatherTech is seeking a qualified Automation Controls Engineer who will be responsible for supporting, programming, and designing automation solutions to existing and new manufacturing equipment. This position will also be responsible for any upgrades to improve safety, quality, or efficiency in the Production Department.

As the Automation Controls Engineer, you will
- Work with production and engineering departments to identify processes or equipment upgrades to improve safety, quality, or machine efficiency
- Work with departments outside of production to source or implement new ideas to support existing and new products
- Work with production and support groups to troubleshoot and correct equipment issues (electrical, mechanical, and programming logic)
- Work with or Automation Engineering in the design, programming, and build of controls and logic for automaton projects
- Update equipment schematics for any changes that are implemented
- Work with outside vendors for machinery and equipment quotes or other needs
- Work toward standardizing equipment control components and software
- Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures
- Work a full-time schedule, work extended hours and/or weekends as business demands
- Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, clean and maintain equipment
- Communicate clearly and work as part of a team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualified Candidates will have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or related field, preferred
- 5 or more years of experience with manufacturing automation equipment, robotic, PLC, HMI programming, vision systems, troubleshooting, and control design and build.
- Experience with thermoforming, injection molding and/or extrusion equipment and processes a plus
- A strong safety background and quality focus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, Logic Control and ERP/MES software.
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Authorization to work in the United States
