Job Summary:

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will focus on understanding the systems and our payment terms and discounts.  You are key in helping JEGS retain and grow our vendor business relationship.

You will:

• Work in an environment that requires large amounts of invoice processing (Average 5,000 per week)
• Receive and print invoices via US Mail, EDI (through AS400 system), e-mail, and fax
• Prepare invoices by properly ordering the pages, date stamping, counting all invoices received and sorting by vendor, code invoices by notating with all information necessary for keying and separating by pay date; forward batches to Matching Clerk for continued processing
• File daily, monthly, and quarterly invoices and packing slips
• Rotate files monthly and quarterly
• Conduct a daily edit verification
• Back up other Accounts Payable Clerks and Matching Clerks as needed
• Collaborate with other members of Accounts Payable daily
• Partner with other JEGS associates at all levels as needed to research issues, answer questions and provide information
• Other support duties as needed

You have:

• 2+ years Accounts Payable experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Prior filing experience 
• An ability to work independently
• Completed repetitive tasks at a fast pace
• Effectively handled confidential information
• Familiarity with a PC including Microsoft Office 
• H.S. Graduate or Equivalent
