Position Overview:


The Product Engineer will perform design engineering work from concept development trade studies, design for manufacturability, and final design documentation of high-end outdoor kitchen appliances and accessories. Contributes effectively towards team goals while integrating the needs of Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing depts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Develop product ideas based on customer audience interests.

  • Coordinate prototype submissions with relevant personnel for approval.

  • Perform market analysis on competing products and brands.

  • Identify causes of product and manufacturing problems and implementing solutions.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to improve products and processes.

  • Monitor product and process capabilities and develop plans for continuous improvement.

  • Support new product introductions.

  • Create and manage product documentation.

  • Provide product development support which involves interfacing with Design, Test Engineering, Quality Engineering, and others.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Previous experience in gas appliance industry, commercial or residential.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Portfolio of successful past projects.

  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.

  • Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Able to work in seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time.

  • Flexible to travel to suppliers as required of the job.
