Job Description: Responsibility and management of Accounting & Finance functions with team oversight and impeccable accuracy.  Responsibility and Ownership of accounting, tax, audit, compliance, budgeting, and forecasting functions while protecting assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.  Manage and maintain both interdepartmental relationships and outside vendors in accordance with Turn 14’s terms, conditions, and corporate philosophy.


 


Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, coach, and develop employees to continuously upgrade talent and drive employee retention on the team.

  • Implement and maintain Accounting Policy (GAAP, SOP, Application) which enhances internal controls and safeguards around company assets.

  • Manage and audit an ongoing analysis of financial data to ensure compliance.

  • Write and deliver employee performance assessments and goals; provide a quality review of all review department performance reviews.

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to leadership by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.

  • Manage and oversee an accurate and timely month-end close resulting in a monthly financial reporting package.

  • Support accurate and timely annual Tax Return filings including but not limited to: entity tax returns, shareholder tax returns and various tax credits.

  • Manage the filing of sales tax, business, taxes, personal property tax and real estate tax payments.

  • Support annual and ongoing tax planning.

  • Prepare annual budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data through interdepartmental collaboration and recommending plans to complement leadership’s goals and strategic vision; manage monthly budget reporting.

  • Coordinate and manage the year-end annual audit, which should result in no key accounting adjustments.

  • Manage expense reports and expense report policy.

  • Manage CAPEX – budget, status, acquisition, disposals and depreciation schedules.

  • Manage all lease obligations and accurate lease accounting.

  • Support insurance needs, requirements, and renewal.

  • Manage vehicle titling, registration, acquisition, disposal, and DOT requirements.

  • Oversee company bank accounts, credit card accounts, loans, and lines and credit. 

  • Maintain ongoing business partnership and consulting on matters affecting financial transactions; manage and implement continuous improvement and best practices.  

  • Plan workload adequately for intervals of high volume and ensure all deadlines are met with accurate, quality work.

  • Oversee and maintain strong outside partner relationships.

  • Maintain strong interdepartmental relationships.

  • Establish and maintain relationships and collaboration with Leadership throughout the business.

  • Plan and support future acquisition activity as business needs require.

  • Perform ad hoc requests as needed to support business needs.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


 



  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of GAAP and applicable regulations.

  • Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.

  • Experience with financial reporting requirements.

  • Excellent time management skills with attention to deadlines.

  • Amazing attention to detail and highly organized.

  • Ability to communicate with outside partners and cross-functionally professionally.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and business needs simultaneously.

  • Strong decision-making skills to guide the department, know when to escalate, and bring resolution to items in an efficient manner.

  • Exercises discretion in handling of confidential and sensitive information.

  • Leads Department by both personal and professional example.

  • Proficient in data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking


Qualifications:


 



  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; CPA a plus

  • Experience with medium to large inventory

  • Experience in the distribution industry required

  • Minimum 10-12 years of Accounting experience required

  • Experience leading a team

  • Google Suite and ERP experience is preferred
