Kawasaki Precision Machinery, (U.S.A.), Inc., headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI and a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., has an immediate opening for an Outside Sales Manager.
This is an outside, remote sales position with primary responsibilities to support existing distribution accounts and customers. Attract and develop new distribution customers, resulting in continuous annual sales revenue & profit growth.
The applicant for this Distribution Sales Manager ideally would live in surrounding cities near Denver, Dallas, Houston and/or Portland. Overnight air travel required: 30-50%.
Responsibilities:
- Total sales responsibility for assigned customers. Attract and develop new customers.
- Prepare the annual regional sales revenue plan which supports management’s revenue plans.
- Meet / exceed the annual regional sales revenue plan & gross margin targets, as established by management.
- Prepare and execute an annual sales activity plan, showing key customer & application sales targets and timelines.
- Provide sales forecasts for assigned distributors.
- Strengthen and maintain trusting relationships with existing distributors.
- Able to determine which distributors are the right partners for Kawasaki and which distributors may not be the right fit.
- Take customer sales projects from start to completion, by leading all related customer and KPMG employees (ie. management, engineering and order fulfillment teams) as necessary.
- Responsible for frequent communication with customers; including meetings, email & voice communications.
- Prepare sales call reports and customer & market studies.
- Assist with general marketing and exhibition activities.
- Provide competitive pricing proposals and new product development ideas to leadership.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years related industry experience. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the fluid power field. However, experience selling a technical/industrial product to distributors or OEMs is acceptable.
- Bachelors’ degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to problem solve for customers by identifying proper Kawasaki product.
- Possess strong relationship building skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to self-manage and work independently.
